For the week of March 29th  




Each week we will be memorizing a verse that begins with the letter we are learning.


Verse for the week is:

Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father, but by me.  John 14:6

 

Reminders:

 

Easter Party at the El Paso Country Club on Thursday April 1st.  Please make sure to turn in permission slips and $8 by March 29th

 

Early release on April 1st @ 11:00 

 

No school April 2nd or April 5th.....HAPPY EASTER!       

 

 

LANGUAGE/PHONICS

This week we will be learning the letter: Jj--name, sound, and writing; sight words- read, put

 

Sounding out three letter short words—cat, man, rat, sat, mat, bat, can, ran, etc.

 

MATH-  This week we will be learning the number 16 and how to write the number word, counting out that many objects; writing tally marks, shapes, understanding shapes go together to create people, places, and things. identifying big and little, AB/ABC/AABB/AAB patterns, sorting by size, position words—above, below, inside, outside, over, under, top, middle, bottom, left, right

 

FINE MOTOR SKILLSholding writing tools correctly, cutting straight and curved lines, writing strokes go top down and circles counter clockwise 

 

SOCIAL STUDIES/SCIENCE— 

 

 THINGS TO PRACTICE AT HOME: 

-have your child practice writing, sounding out, and identifying upper and lower case Mm, Tt, Aa,Ss,Pp, Cc,Ii, Bb, Nn, Rr, Dd,Kk,Ff,Oo,Hh,Ll,Gg,Ee,Ww,Jj 

-review numbers 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16 

-Have your child count out objects for you.  Make them touch each object as they count.  Practice counting orally to at least 20

- Practice making tally marks with your child—say 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 on top continue through tally 9.
